Joe lets out a breath as he finally settles into his shower chair. Demi, on the other hand is breathing a bit heavier. He watches a drop of Demi’s sweat hit the shower tiles. She kicks his wheelchair behind her as she lined up the soap, shampoo, and conditioner in Joe’s reach. She lowers the shower arm and aims it at Joe’s back, to start him off. He leans forward so she can reach easier. The strands of her loose bun unravels at her face as she reaches for the soap. Joe notices the imprints of his fingers on her arm, looking a slight purple. He has to pause to accept that he did this to her. “Do you ever get tired?” He says. Demi glides the bar of soap across his skin before using the back of hand to push her hair away. “Of what?” She asks back, scrubbing down his flesh.
